Tacoma's Fourth of
July Extravaganza
For as long as we can remember, friends and families have gathered by the shores of Commencement Bay to celebrate Independence Day.
This wonderful, free-to-the-public event features dozens of activities and draws 150,000 spectators every year. It's one of the largest Fourth of July festivals in the west.
People come to enjoy the live entertainment and to see the classic car show, participate in the many activities located in the Metro Parks Family Fun Zone, and the other great recreational events.
Visitors love to eat the great food and shop in the open-air market for something special offered by one of over one hundred vendors.

Fireworks Spectacular

A symphony of light and sound will begin at 10:00 pm over Commencement Bay. This will be the biggest Freedom Fair fireworks show ever! You won't want to miss it! |
The fireworks are synchronized to music, so bring your radio
(Warm 106.9 FM or KLAY
1180 AM) or sit near the sound system located along the waterfront. The Ruston Way waterfront is the best place to view the show, so come early and enjoy all the great food and entertainment. |
International Food Fair

Leave your ice chest and picnic basket at home. Mom's not cooking this Fourth of July! Some of the best food vendors in the northwest will offer up tasty treats from around the world and America, too.
Cruz-In Car Show
Pre-1970's street rods, classics, antiques, and special interest cars are welcome to enter and compete for best of show! Entry fee is
$25 per car, but it's free to come and look. |
